Zempléni viziturizmus

Zemplén turisztikai régiót nyugatról a sebesvizű Hernád, délről a szőke Tisza határolja, a Bodrog pedig a magyar Alföld és a Zempléni hegység határán méltóságteljesen ömlik Tokajnál a Tiszába.

A vizitúrák résztvevői a Bodrog két partján és a bodrogközi tájakon rácsodálkozhatnak a sokhelyütt még érintetlen táj gazdag növény és állatvilágára, az épített környezet látványosságaira.

A Bodrog és Tisza menti természetes és mesterséges morotvák, tavak gazdag hínárvegetációval rendelkeznek. A parthoz közel eső nádasok, mocsárrétek, bokorfüzesek, nyár ligeterdők igen gazdag madárvilágnak adnak otthont. A túrakenusok közelről ismerkedhetnek a meredek partfalakba vájt partifecske és gyurgyalag lyukakkal, az úszkáló récék, vizicsirkék életével, az ártéri erdőkben fészkelő, rejtőzködő madarak ezreivel.

A gazdag halállományra utal a part mellett üldögélő sok horgász, kitűzött varsa. A tavasz első meleg napsugarai április elején csalják vízre a bátor kenusokat, akik még a késő őszi, októberi időkben is hódolnak szenvedélyüknek.

A tokaji Unió Vizitelepen (Tel:47/352-927) a tavaszi szünethez igazítva rendezik meg az Evezés hetét, valamint a tavaszi Bodrog-ártéri túrákat, melyekre többszáz kilométerről is jönnek túrázók. A nyári viziturák elsősorban a kezdők és családok számára népszerűek a Bodrogon és a Tiszán.

A Bodrogon a határmenti Felsőbereckitől szervezehetők viziturák. Sárospatakon a kikötő, kemping, valamint a Református Kollégium Csónakháza az induló állomásai a Tokajig tartó mintegy 40 km-es Bodrog túrának. A Tiszán a Tiszabecstől indított 200 km-es (hosszú menetelés), vagy a Gergelyiugornyától indított 140 km-es (könnyed lapátolás) sokszáz, sokezres résztvevőivel Tokajnál találkozhatnak a Bodrog kajakosai, kenusai.

Ettől válik a Tisza-Bodrog összefolyás élővé, nemzetközivé, élményt adóvá. Régiónkban a víziturizmus szervezői a FETIVE (Felső-Tiszai Víziturisztikai Egyesület) tagjai.

A Hernádon Hernádszurdoktól szerveznek vízitúrákat, ám ezt a túrát veszélyessége miatt csak gyakorlott, kalandvágyó túrázóknak ajánljunk.

Water Tours in Zemplén

The Zemplén tourist region reaches to the swift-flowing river Hernád in the west, while, the southern border of it is drawn by river Tisza. The Bodrog flows into the Tisza at Tokaj after meandering along the meeting of the Zemplén Mountains and the lowlands. Participants of the organised water tours can admire the wildlife and the flora of the mostly untouched country along the two banks of the Bodrog. They can enjoy the sights of the environment created by man, too.

The organic and artificial backwaters and lakes on both sides of the Tisza and the Bodrog have a great variety of reed-grass in them. A rich stock of waterfowl can be watched in the marsh-fields, reaches, reeds, willow-groves and poplar-groves close to the banks. During a canoeing tour, you can study the small holes in the steep slopes deepened by the sand martins and other small birds, or watch the life of ducks and other kinds of water birds. In the woods on the inundation areas you can see and hear wading birds hiding themselves.

The sight of anglers sitting patiently on the riverbanks next to their nets prove the rich stock of fish in the water. The most audacious lovers of canoeing appear in the water as early as April invited by the warm sunshine. Many of them are out in the waters even in late October.

The Water Basis of the Union Foundation in Tokaj (Phone: +36-47-352-927) hosts the event called 'Week of Rowing' during the spring holiday at schools. The tours in the Bodrog inundation areas attract many participants from even a couple hundred kilometres. Summer tours are popular mainly with beginners and families on the Bodrog and the Tisza.

Water tours can start from Felsőberecki, which is very close to the state border with Slovakia. The Bodrog tour to Tokaj is about 40 kilometres long, it starts out from the landing stage or the boathouse of the Calvinist College in Sárospatak. On the Tisza there are two long tours are organised; one starts from Tiszabecs and takes 200 km (called 'long marching'), the other from Gergelyiugornya, which is a 140-km long tour (called 'light paddling'). Thousands of participants of the tours meet their friends at Tokaj.

These events make the Tisza-Bodrog confluence a live, international meeting point, which gives lifelong experiences. Water tours in our region are organised by the FETIVE members (Upper Tisza Region Society for Water Tourism).

There also are tours on the Hernád starting from Hernádszurdok but these are offered exclusively for experienced oarsmen who seek for adventures, as it may create severe danger to those who do not know it.
