Kerékpáros turizmus Zemplénben

Zemplén régió mára az egyik legkedveltebb kerékpárturisztikai célponttá vált, annak ellenére, hogy külön e célra kiépített kerékpárúttal egyelőre nem rendelkezik. A régió városai vasúton jól megközelíthetők. A nagyobb városokból Zemplénbe közlekedő gyors- és személyvonatok kerékpárszállító szakasszal, poggyászkocsival közlekednek, így vendégeink saját kerékpárral túrázhatnak a térségben. A régióban az alsóbbrendű utakon viszonylag kis gépjármű forgalommal számolhatunk, így azokon zavartalanul lehet kerékpározni.

A Zempléni-hegység legnagyobb kerékpáros körtúra útvonala kb. 155 km hosszú és 3 túranapra tervezhető. Szerencsi indulással, Monok - Abaújszántó - Boldogkőváralja - Vizsoly - Gönc - Kéked - Hollóháza - Füzér - Széphalom - Sátoraljaújhely - Sárospatak útvonalon halad a túra, s közben elénk tárul az Abaúji-hegyalja, a Zempléni-hegység és a Hegyköz páratlan panorámája, az érintetlen természet látványa.

Taktaköz-Harangod kistérségben az un. “Taktaközi tekergő" kerékpártúra ismert, mely Szerencs központtal látogatja végig a síkvidéki, taktaközi településeket.

A Bodrogközbe szervezett túrákat Sárospatakról, vagy Sátoraljaújhelyről indíthatjuk. Célállomások lehetnek a Bodrogzug tájvédelmi területe, a tiszai árterületek, illetve a kistérség műemlékei (Karcsa, Pácin). Pácinon keresztül a szlovákiai Királyhelmecre is ellátogathatunk. A cigándi-hídon átkelve a kerekezés a Felső-Tiszavidék, Tiszahát felé folytatható.

Zemplén régióban a kerékpáros túrizmussal a Zempléni Környezetvédelmi Egyesület “bringaszekciója" foglalkozik. Kapcsolatban állnak a térség legfontosabb szállásadóival, szolgáltatóival, így naprakészen szervezik a hegyi, országúti, vagy kombinált túrákat. Cycling Tourism in  Zemplén

The Zemplén region has become one of the most frequented destinations for cyclists in Hungary, however there are hardly any roads specially deigned for them. On the other hand, visitors can reach the towns easily by train. Trains coming from the bigger cities towards the region have specially furnished carriages to place bicycles and luggage, so that the visitors can use their own bikes in the region. The minor roads in the region have relatively small traffic on them; consequently, they offer calm and relaxing ride to those interested.

The longest cycling route in the Zemplén Mountains is about 155 km long and can be carried out just under 3 days' time. Starting out from Szerencs, it leads through Monok, Abaújszántó, Boldogkőváralja, Vizsoly, Gönc, Kéked, Hollóháza, Fűzér, Széphalom, Sátoraljaújhely and Sárospatak. All the way through you can enjoy the unequalled panorama and the untouched nature of the Abaúj-Hegyalja, the Zemplén Mountains and the Hegyköz.

Shorter cycling tours, called 'Taktaköz Tekergő' are organised in the sub-region Taktaköz-Harangod with the starting point in Szerencs and they visit the settlements on the plain of Takataköz.
Tours to the Bodrogköz can be organised from Sárospatak or Sátoraljaújhely. Potential destinations are the Bodrogzug Nature Protection Area, or the Tisza inundation area and the historic buildings of the sub-region in Karcsa and Pácin.

You can enter Slovakia through the border crossing at Pácin and pedal up to Kralovsky Chlmec. If you take the route over the Tisza-bridge at Cigánd, the upper Tisza area and the 'Tiszahát' can be reached.
Cycling tourism is organised by the cyclist section of the Zemplén Environment Association. They are in contact with the regional accommodation providers and assist in designing mountain, road, or combined tours.
